Creative Movement and Dance - Teaching Strategies

Excellent and practical examples of how to teach creative movement through allowing students the space to get in touch with the creativity that they innately have. The first circle dance would work very well as a warm up for any type of physical movement. It is beautifully scaffolded to allow students to begin to think about creative movement within the structure and as they became more comfortable and familiar with the activity it could become more creative in time. I envisage that using this as a warm up every week by the end of term students would have taken ownership of the dance and have their go to moves. Another great lesson is the moving creatively through an obstacle course that uses what ever is around and building the creative movement ideas that students have and developing their abilities to tell a story through how they move their bodies.
