4.5 Use ICT safely, responsibly and ethically

Demonstrate an understanding of the relevant issues and the strategies available to support the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT in learning and teaching.

During my second placement I planned and delivered a lesson that combined outdoor inquiry with ICT, students to used photography on iPads to document living things in the school yard. By giving this focus to the technology students developed an understanding of ICT as a tool that they can use to create their own content rather than just as an entertainment device. I believe that this empowers students. 

During this lesson I gave the students a safety briefing about which apps to use, reminded them how to access them and how to safely carry and use iPads in the outdoors as noted in my journal below.
