Throughout my professional experiences, I have had the opportunity to create lesson plans that relate directly to the Victorian Curriculum. When planning grade 3 maths I was able to take the data generated by a Fractions and Decimals pre-test on Essential Assessment and ascertain that as a class there were key misunderstandings around improper fractions. I then planned a number of different ways to expose students to improper fractions and two weeks later their post-test data indicated significant growth for all students in this area.
