5.2 Provide feedback to students on their learning

Demonstrate an understanding of the purpose of providing timely and appropriate feedback to students about their learning.

Providing feedback to students is a continually process that we do as educators ALL THE TIME sometimes it is as simple as a thumbs up. Often when a student has believed to have finished their work and wants to show me I can suggest ways for them to extend their work to achieve a higher outcome.

As I have mostly worked in the lower grades I haven't provided a lot of written feedback relying mostly on verbal feedback. Wherever possible I try to utilise the idea that feedback should be timely and positive, feedback to feed up.

Of course with student writing it is necessary to work with them to revise their writing and correct spelling errors before they move onto publishing, one example of this is below. An interesting example as this student was not yet able to write fluently enough to express ideas so some of the story is scribed.
